Discover Novatest’s Georadar course for archaeology

Novatest presents its new specialist course on Georadar applied to archaeology, designed for those who wish to integrate the use of GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) into archaeological prospecting activities.
The course offers a comprehensive training programme, combining theoretical lessons, practical field exercises and data analysis, with the aim of developing practical skills in the interpretation of radar signals.

Objectives

The course consists of four days of training and advanced specialisation dedicated to ground-penetrating radar techniques, with a particular focus on indirect prospecting methods in the field of archaeology.
The specialist course is aimed at all operators in the sector, with the aim of transferring technical, scientific and practical knowledge and skills in the field of ground-penetrating radar and preventive archaeology.

The training course will provide participants with advanced technical training in indirect archaeological survey practices, together with up-to-date knowledge of the current regulatory framework for the protection of cultural heritage, with specific regard to the obligations associated with preventive archaeology and the relationships between professionals, clients and the authorities responsible for protection.

The practical activity will be carried out in the field at real archaeological and historical sites in the city of Chiusi (SI) with the acquisition of georadar surveys aimed at implementing the techniques presented during the theoretical part of the course.
