Bathymetric surveys: Novatest and ANAS together for safety

On April 15, we at Novatest together with ANAS were on the Velino river near Piè di Moggio in the province of Rieti to conduct an experimental bathymetric survey with one of our new echosounder prototype.

In this specific case, the survey was aimed at performing single-beam bathymetric surveys in order to assess the hydraulic conditions of the river course at its most critical points, namely under and near bridges and viaducts.

This new floating USV prototype with integrated echosounder, thanks to its design, compact and light is much less bulky and allows for easier and more comfortable handling, compared to the normal boats currently on the market,
These experimental activities, in collaboration with the most important realities of the sector, are fundamental because they allow us to evaluate the effectiveness of new technologies, so as to test their criticalities and make the necessary changes, in order to put only the best technological solutions on the market.

But they are also essential for the entire community, because through these surveys it is possible to accurately and timely monitor and analyze the flow of water and the conformation of river beds, ensuring the safety of infrastructure.
